It may not be as new as they would have us believe, since content was already very important for success through techniques such as   email marketing.

Wouldn’t it be better to stop wasting time explaining the obvious and focus on what doesn’t need explaining? And be very careful about what we say, because our customers,   our audience, will not forgive us if we lie to them.
